My Story

How far will my story take me?

"Every child has a right to education whether the child is yours or that of another."

Proverbs 19:17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will pay back what he has given.

AMEN.

Will it stretch forth the hands of many, to put smiles on the faces of less priviledged children, who rise up daily without knowing where the future will lead them?.

There are many children in our world today :

-1) who see their friends go to school in the morning and have no hope to be in school.

-2) who have talents but there is no one to send them to a craft centre.

-3) who have never known their father nor mother, in this world and long to see someone, who will like to tell them, "I can by God's grace fill that gap of your lonely mind."

- 4) who sit by the way side feeling whether they can see a dry smile from a passerby smiling at them.

These types of children exist in our world.

I have cause to say I have come across such children and this concern is shared from my experience.

I had worked in private sector of industry and had risen to Assistant General Manager in a bank, where I had early retirement at 50, a week after I enrolled into a theological Seminary.

I had educaction from Bachelors Degree in accounting (1977), to being a Chartered Management accountant of a London Institute and that of Nigeria Intititute between 1985 and 1986.

I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth , but God took me from no where to what ever I am today.

There are better children out there, who are the blessings in the hand of God for our present and future generation.

These children have a right to education to serve humanity. Let us together give them a helping hand.

After the Doctoral Degree in theology in 2001, both myself and my wife, we began asking God how we have to work for Him.

The commission came, "catch the drop out children."

This conveyed my mind to the story I began sharing here.

Going by my writings on the child, my Theological Seminary got me through to an appointment as Professor of Missions and Child Evangelism on October 1st, 2005.

I was converted to Penticostal Christianity in 1967. I loved the Bible and the stories it carried right from my childhood.

I did not understand the mysteries in the Bible, but they were exciting to me, until God healed me from sickness, in March 1967.

it was that healing that made all about God to become clearer to me at the age of 20.

I had bought my first Bible in 1961, while a teenager, by personal choice, there must be a purpose of God in my life.

My parents were heathens. They worshipped idols and my new found faith looked different from what my parents knew among the first line churches by the year 1967, which is 58 years ago at this point I am writing my story.

My new found faith led me to a headlong collision with my parents, because almost most of the first line believers were one leg in church and the other leg in tradition.

I was a strange child to the community, more so, especially to my parents who were idolaters.

What I was taught where I got to know Christ was great opposites from the local church and I had decided for Christ and Christ alone.

Going by the commission which I received to catch drop out children, I began taking poor children from poor homes from 2001 beginning with two children. I gave them a nanny, pastor and a teacher.

The numbers grew rapidly to six, and to 25.

It was the second non government school in my village and more so it was set up as a Penticostal mission school.

I had to personally pay teachers for the first two years, because fees were not big enough to pay salaries.

Today we have 5 schools in 4 centres one in Badagry, one in a rural community in Owerri and two others in two villages in my home town in Imo State, Nigeria.

Put together in these centres, we have three primary schools and two secondary schools.

Apart from setting up schools the centres are also missionary service outlets taking the gospel to the unreached with children's devotionals, adult books, and revival pamphlets.

I now saw what "a drop out child" really means.
